Well #2 Kogri

This, our second well, was commissioned on December 7, 2018. Carolina Gynning, influencer and artist, designed her own [eaubottle] to help finance the well—only 1,500 bottles were produced. Before the well arrived, villagers were forced to trek to a dirty, crocodile-infested pond to fetch water. The village’s only midwife had even left because she couldn’t deliver babies under those conditions. We were greeted with singing and dancing, and after a day of drilling to a depth of 45 meters, it was incredible to see water gush forth from the well. The proud villagers gifted us a goat, which was difficult to transport back to Sweden by plane, so we donated it to the children’s home in Jirapa, where we also delivered toys, clothes, and other useful supplies we had brought. 

Carolina and her amazing [eau]bottle “Essence of Ibiza” now provides fresh water for many years to come to the more than 2,500 villagers in Kogri. The crocodiles can once again enjoy their beloved water pond undisturbed. Win-win.
