This well was our first one to be drilled and put into operation on July 9, 2017. We visited Bulingin again in December 2018, where we were met by many of the 2,730 villagers who shared stories about how their lives had changed now that they have easy access to fresh water. We also presented an [eau] bottle to the “Village Chief,” who was surrounded by hearty laughter when he saw the pictures of the various villagers on the packaging. The villagers proudly gave us two guineafowl, one rooster, and several kilos of yams, which we later donated to the children’s home in the village of Jirapa, where we also delivered toys, clothes, and supplies that we had brought from home.
Life has, thankfully, become a little more comfortable and secure thanks to the freshwater well.
“I’m so happy they’ve given us a borehole. We’d been searching for good drinking water for a long time without success, but now we have one—and I’m overjoyed.”
The Bulingin well is used daily by 2,730 villagers.
Thank you for supporting the people of Bulingin (9° 52′ 25.6″ N 2° 32′ 20.8″ W) in their basic human right to safe drinking water.
