Country Ghana
Village Batunuuriyiri meaning "We Belong Together"
Villagers served by well 1456
Operational since July 2026 (drilled July 2nd, not yet complete)

This well was result of the overwhelming response from the followers of Jonna Jinton. When she published her June video (here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8TNxaewpbg&t=1865s) and told our story, we were flooded with orders and warm support. We are so grateful that so many of you waited for your bottles.

See the results of your support here:

We will keep posting updates and photos here until the well is fully operational in August.

Next steps:
- Send water samples to the laboratory for safety checks (lab is analyzing now)
- Pour the concrete foundation (happening now)
- When hardened (takes a week), install the Afrodev pump
- Form the village Water Fund. All but the poorest villagers regularly put a small sum of money in a fund for maintenence of the pump. This method has the proven effect that villagers take proper care themselves and don't wait for our staff to fix it or pay for parts. Their full ownership is a vital key to a long life for the well.
- Teach the community "well team" to maintain all parts of the pump. Spare parts are supplied directly from stock without middle men.

When we say that each bottle gives water to one person for seven years that is based on an average of 1400 villagers and a 25 year lifespan of the well, so Batanuuriyiri is spot on in size. And we know there are plenty Afrodev wells that are perfectly functioning after 50 years, so chances are your support will yield double the years of water we promise.

Check back here soon for update photos and videos.

And again: THANK YOU all for the amazing support!
